Advanced Driver Training for Enjoyment and Safety
Having retired in 1995 as an Inspector following a varied career in the Hertfordshire and West Mercia Constabularies, which included traffic patrol and prosecution duties, our Principal Instructor, David Wornham, continues to use his experience in road safety issues. He qualified as a police advanced driver and advanced motorcyclist in 1969. In 1991 he joined the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) and has since given Advanced Driving Guidance to Associate Members of the Worcestershire Group of Advanced Motorists, for whom he has also acted as Re-Qualification Examiner and Membership Secretary. He passed the IAM Minibus test in 1996, the IAM Senior Observers' test in 1997 and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Advanced Driving Test, achieving the gold standard in 1997. In 1998 he qualified as a Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor (Car) and achieved the City and Guilds Further and Adult Education Teacher's Certificate. In June 2002 he was included on the new Driving Standards Agency Register as an Approved Fleet Register Trainer.
